Former Indian cricket team fast bowler Ashish Nehra has made history by becoming the first-ever Indian to win the Indian Premier League trophy as the head coach of a franchise. In the last 14 seasons, the winners always had an overseas head coach.

The list features Shane Warne, Darren Lehmann, Stephen Fleming, Trevor Bayliss, John Wright, Ricky Ponting, Tom Moody and Mahela Jayawardene. Some of the names in the previous statement have even won the IPL multiple times, and now the list has a new addition – Ashish Nehra.

Unlike most of the coaches, Nehra was not spotted using laptops or having long discussions in backroom meetings. He would only ask the players to keep calm and bring their ‘A’ game to the table. In some videos shared by the Gujarat Titans, Nehra would be heard telling the players that they should eat good and rest well.

Here everyone gets net time, everyone gets a chance. It has been amazing, hopefully, we can come back next year in front of these fans.”
