The Chennai Super Kings are in deep, deep trouble in their IPL 2022 match against the Punjab Kings as they have lost five early wickets in a run-chase of 181. New CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and elected to field first against PBKS at Brabourne Stadium. In the second innings, it seemed like CSK missed their former batters Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis.

Talking about the first innings of the match, Punjab Kings lost the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Bhanuka Rajapaksa early after being invited to bat first. Liam Livingstone then smashed a fifty and helped the Punjab Kings post a 180-run total on the board.

Chris Jordan made his debut for the Chennai-based franchise tonight and picked up two wickets. Speaking to the host broadcasters after the first innings, Jordan said:

A good job tonight on a small ground, restricting them to 180 was a job well done but we still have to chase this one down. On small grounds, you have to find something to work with.
