The first match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Pakistan cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team is underway right now at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. Babar Azam has stolen the show once again with a fine century in the first innings, but it would not have been possible without the support provided by number 11 batter Naseem Shah.
Speaking of the ongoing match between the Pakistan cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team, the home side batted first and scored 222 runs on the board. In reply, the Pakistan cricket team slumped to 112/8. Skipper Babar Azam played well but needed support from the other end. He had a 36-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Hasan Ali.
After that, young fast bowler Naseem Shah came to the middle and played more than 30 overs with Babar Azam. The pair united in the 60th over and survived till the 90th over, with Naseem remaining not out on five runs off 52 balls. Naseem played 38 dot balls on a trot before opening his account on the 39th ball of his innings.
Babar Azam lost his wicket after scoring 119 runs off 244 balls. Maheesh Theekshana trapped him in front of his stumps when the Pakistan cricket team was just four runs short of the first-innings total posted by the Sri Lankan cricket team. The islanders gained a slender first innings lead of four runs in Galle.
Fans on Twitter react as Naseem Shah supports Babar Azam well in the first innings
Had Naseem lost his wicket without a fight, the Pakistan cricket team would have conceded a bigger first innings lead. Cricket fans on Twitter lauded Naseem for his brilliant batting as a number 11 batter. Here are some of the top Twitter reactions:

This is a Naseem Shah appreciation Tweet. Pakistan wouldn’t be celebrating Babar’s special 100 if it wasn’t for the innings he has played here.
