The BCCI announced a second-string 17-man Indian squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series against the Ireland cricket team. For the first time in almost four years, fans will witness a series between the Indian cricket team and the Ireland cricket team. Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya has received an opportunity to lead the Indian team for the first time, while Rahul Tripathi has earned his maiden national call-up.
The Indian cricket team is currently playing a five-match T20I series against the South African cricket team at home. After the first three games, the Proteas have a 2-1 lead in the series. Rishabh Pant is leading the team right now, but he will be in England when the Indian cricket team plays the away series against the Ireland cricket team.
Even KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are a part of the Indian squad for the ICC World Test Championship match against the England cricket team. The three big names are missing from the T20I squad for the brief series against the Ireland cricket team. Sanju Samson has earned a recall to the team, while Rahul Tripathi has found a place in the squad as well.
