Evin Lewis was the first player in IPL history to win the Man of the Match award while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants team. The left-handed batter scored a match-winning half-century for the Lucknow-based franchise in their battle against the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 a few nights ago.
However, the team management dropped him from the playing XI after he could not impress against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Delhi Capitals. Lewis scored a 23-ball 55 against defending champions Chennai Super Kings, but against SRH and DC, he returned with scores of 1(5) and 5(13), respectively.
Since the team management got the option of Marcus Stoinis available for last night’s match against the Rajasthan Royals, the Lucknow Super Giants included him in the playing XI in Evin’s place. The Lucknow Super Giants lost the match against the Rajasthan Royals by three runs.
A few hours after the match ended, Evin posted the following message from his official Instagram handle:
“Never envy someone success them journey might be totally different from yours!”

Interestingly, there was no story or message after this post. So it is tough to understand why the Lucknow Super Giants player posted this message around 2:00 AM in the morning on Monday.
Will Evin Lewis play for Lucknow Super Giants in the next match of IPL 2022?
Lewis is a match-winner who can change the game in a matter of a few balls. He proved himself as a match-winner while playing for LSG against the Chennai Super Kings.
However, because of the four overseas players rule, Lewis might have to sit outside for a while before getting another opportunity to play in IPL 2022. He is primarily an opener but played at number 3 for LSG.
