“Good to see RR in final”- Former Rajasthan Royals player Kamran Akmal sends a message to the franchise ahead of IPL 2022 Final

Former Rajasthan Royals wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal has sent a message to his former team ahead of their big match against the Gujarat Titans. For the first time since 2008, RR have qualified for an IPL Final. Back in 2008, Pakistani players also participated in the league.

One of the three Pakistani cricketers who played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2008 was Kamran Akmal. Along with him, Sohail Tanvir and Younis Khan were also a part of the RR squad that lifted the trophy.

Now after 14 years, RR have another chance of winning the trophy. This time, the captain is Sanju Samson. Ahead of the big game, Akmal posted the following tweet:

Kamran Akmal featured in the Rajasthan Royals playing XI for the IPL 2008 Final

Rajasthan Royals played against the Chennai Super Kings in the 2008 IPL Final. In that game, CSK batted first and scored 163 runs on the board. Chasing 164 runs to win, RR lost wickets at regular intervals, but a fine half-century from Yusuf Pathan helped the Jaipur-based franchise win the game on the last ball of the 20th over.

Kamran Akmal batted at number three for the Rajasthan Royals in that big game which was hosted by Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. He scored six runs before getting run out.
