    Champions League T20 is a tournament which is very close to the hearts of the die-hard cricket fans. Young fans who started the following the game in the last three to four years have no idea about CLT20, but it was a competition which could have revolutionized league cricket forever, just like the IPL.

    This tournament featured the champions of all the top leagues in the world. From some tournaments, even two or four teams made it to the competition. Either India or South Africa would play host to the competition, and it gave a platform to new talents to display their talent.

    CLT20 came to an end in 2014 because of low viewership for non-IPL team matches. Here’s how CLT20 2023 draw would have looked had the competition existed in 2023.

    Champions League T20 2023 Qualifiers – Lucknow Super Giants, Lahore Qalandars, Northern Districts and Jaffna Kings

    IPL’s fourth-placed team Lucknow Super Giants would play in the first round along with PSL champions Lahore Qalandars, Super Smash winners Northern Districts and Lanka Premier League champions Jaffna Kings. KL Rahul, Shaheen Afridi, Jeet Raval and Thisara Perera would be the four captains.

    Champions League T20 2023 Group A – Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Perth Scorchers and Gulf Giants

    The number of teams would increase by 2 in the tournament because of UAE’s International League T20 and England’s Hundred. Group A would feature IPL 2023 champions Chennai Super Kings, third-placed Mumbai Indians, SA20 winners Sunrisers Eastern Cape, BBL winners Perth Scorchers and ILT20 champions Gulf Giants along with a qualifier.

    The five captains of the teams in Group A would be MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Aiden Markram, Ashton Turner and James Vince.

    Group B – Gujarat Titans, Brisbane Heat, Trent Rockets, Pretoria Capitals and Jamaica Tallawahs

    IPL 2023 runners-up Gujarat Titans would be joined by BBL runners-up Brisbane Heat, SA20 runners-up Pretoria Capitals, The Hundred champions Trent Rockets and CPL winners Jamaica Tallawahs along with one qualifying team.
