Earlier this year, BCCI recalled him to the T20I squad for the series against New Zealand. However, he was dropped from the team for the upcoming West Indies tour. In a very candid chat, Shaw spoke about his personal life and how he deals with the low points. Here are the top five statements by him.

    1. BCCI did not tell Prithvi Shaw why he was dropped

Shaw made his Test debut against West Indies in 2018. He was a part of the Test squad until the England tour in 2021. After that, he was dropped. He has neither played ODI nor T20I after 2021 as well. When asked about how he felt after being dropped, Shaw said:

“I don’t have friends, I don’t like to make friends. This is what’s happening with this generation. You can’t share your thoughts with anyone else.”

    3. Shaw says he has stopped stepping out altogether

Further, Shaw said that if he fails, he focuses on the next inning. Until then, he goes in his room, takes shower and plays video games. The star Indian cricketer has stopped going out because people harass him.

    4. Shaw talks about atmosphere in Team India

Shaw further said that everyone talks and plays pranks with each other in the Indian team, but hardly, anyone opens up with each other in the dressing room.

“Everyone talks to each other. But opening up… hardly. At least, I’ve never opened up to anyone,” said Shaw.

    5. Shaw has stopped showing emotions to anyone

Lastly, Prithvi Shaw concluded by saying that he has learned how to keep his emotions within and not share with anyone. He said that once he steps out of his room, only thing on his face is a smile.

“Whatever it be – anger, crying – I do it in my room. Once I open the door, I am smiling again,” Shaw concluded.
