Five teams, namely India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka played in that tournament. Pakistan and Sri Lanka made it to the final, where the islanders emerged victorious.

    India did not make it to the Top 2 of the points table. Playing under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, the team lost against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in nail-biting thrillers. Here’s a look at India’s squad from Asia Cup 2014, and where the players are now.

    Batters – Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma

    India’s star-studded squad featured Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma in the top-order. Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu were wicketkeeping options, while Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara were also present as specialist batters.

    Kohli and Rohit will play in the Asia Cup 2023 tournament. Rohit is the captain now. Rayudu has retired, while Pujara, Rahane and Karthik have lost their place in the Indian team.

    All Rounders for India in Asia Cup 2014 – Ravichandran Ashwin, Stuart Binny and Ravindra Jadeja

    India played with three all-rounders in that mega event. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were the spin-bowling all-rounders, while Stuart Binny contributed as a batter and a pacer.

    Jadeja is India’s best all-format all-rounder right now. Ashwin is a top all-rounder in Test cricket, whereas Binny has retired from international cricket.

    Amit Mishra led India’s spin attack in Asia Cup 2014. The pace battery featured Varun Aaron, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ishwar Pandey.
