    On this day in 2010, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar became the first batter to smash a double hundred in ODI cricket. Playing in an ODI match against South Africa in Gwalior, the Indian batter smashed 200 runs off just 147 balls, setting a new world record for the highest individual score in ODI cricket history.

    Openers – Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar

    The iconic pair of Sehwag and Tendulkar opened the batting for India in that game. Sehwag scored nine runs while Tendulkar scored 200. Both players have now retired. Sehwag works as a commentator now, while Tendulkar plays for India Legends and is icon of Mumbai Indians.

    Middle Order – Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja

    The star-studded middle-order of Team India in that match featured Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. Karthik and Dhoni smashed a half-century. Pathan played an impressive cameo of 36 runs, whereas Kohli, Raina and Jadeja did not get a chance to bat.
