    According to reports, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have approached the BCCI and PCB to play a Test series on English soil. While the BCCI has not shown any interest in such a series, fans are trying hard to remember when was the last time India and Pakistan played a Test against each other.

    The answer to it is December 8, 2007. Pakistan visited India for a three-match series. The last game of the series ended in a draw at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Here’s a look at the Indian playing XI from that Test and where are those players now.

    Openers – Wasim Jaffer and Gautam Gambhir

    Wasim Jaffer and Gautam Gambhir could not score big in the two innings they played in Bengaluru against the arch-rivals. Both players have now retired and have tried their luck in coaching and commentary.

    Middle Order – Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Dinesh Karthik

    India’s star-studded middle-order tormented the arch-rivals in that game. Sourav Ganguly scored 239 runs in the first innings, while Dinesh Karthik scored a 67-ball 52 in the second innings. Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman have all retired and have different positions in the BCCI now. Dinesh is still playing for India in the T20I format.

    All Rounders – Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan

    Both Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan smashed a century in the first innings of that match. They also took a total of three wickets. Both have retired and play for India Legends in Road Safety World Series.

    Bowlers – Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma

    Captain Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh formed India’s spin attack in that contest against Pakistan. Pace bowler Ishant Sharma scalped a five-wicket haul. Singh and Kumble have now retired. Sharma still plays for India in the Test format.
