Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) one of the fan favourite and India’s one of the best spin bowling all-rounder now, Ravindra Jadeja talked about the wholesome moment between him and MS Dhoni when the latter hugged him and lifted him after he scored the winning runs for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 Final.
The moment that we all saw, whole country saw and the whole world saw, it was one of the best moment of the Indian Premier League. After terrific final run chase, for MS Dhoni to run towards Ravindra Jadeja and hugged him is a moment that every CSK fans will cherish.
In a recently uploaded video by the Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja, the hero of the IPL 2023 final, talked about the wholesome moment and what happened.
“He (Dhoni) just stopped me and he lifted me. Yes, obviously this is one of my all-time favourite memories. I will never forget this hug from Thala. This will remain inside my heart forever. Love you, Thala. Cheers,” said a rejuvenated Ravindra Jadeja.
Before this, there was much talk that things were not going well between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja and CSK and even there were rumours that Jadeja could almost leave the team. This all came about after Jadeja decided to step-down as CSK captain mid-season in IPL 2022. But, in the end, everything were right and Jadeja helped Chennai Super Kings lift their 5th IPL Trophy.
It was a rain curtailed 2nd inning which saw CSK’s overs get reduced to 15 overs and needing 171 runs to win. In the last 2 balls of the 15th over, CSK needed 10 runs to win. Jadeja then hit Mohit Sharma for a Six and Four in the last 2 balls to win the match for the Chennai Super Kings and also their 5th IPL Trophy.
