Sarfaraz Khan kicked off his Ranji Trophy 2022 campaign in style with a magnificent innings of 275 runs against the Saurashtra cricket team at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Mumbai cricket team and the Saurashtra team are currently batting in Ahmedabad. It is the opening game for both sides in Ranji Trophy, and so far, Mumbai has been more dominant.
Saurashtra started off well as Jaydev Unadkat dismissed captain Prithvi Shaw early, while Chetan Sakariya sent Shaw’s opening partner Aakarashit Gomel back to the dressing room. It seemed like the Saurashtra bowlers would rule the roost in the contest, but Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz had other plans.
Rahane returned to form in style with a fantastic ton, while Khan scored 275 runs off 401 deliveries. Both batters completed their century on the first day of the match itself. Soon after, Rahane lost his wicket on the individual score of 129.
Sarfaraz held one end and aggregated 275 runs, smashing 30 fours and seven sixes. His innings took the Mumbai team’s score from 44/3 to 515/7. Khan missed out on a well-deserved triple century by just 25 runs. Fans should note that even in the previous Ranji Trophy season, Khan was in excellent touch and scored big for Mumbai.

Sarfaraz Khan scored a magnificent 275 in 401 balls with 30 fours and 7 sixes. Missed out on what could’ve been his 2nd triple century in just 20 First Class games.
