“A good career is always full of ups and downs” – Mohammed Siraj reflects on his forgettable season in IPL 2022

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has vowed to make a solid comeback after a forgettable season in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

An exciting whole lot of matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 came to an on the 29th of May when Gujarat Titans beat the Rajasthan Royals to lift the Trophy in their first attempt.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got into the playoffs with a nail-bitting thriller between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, which Mumbai won to get RCB a slot into the playoffs. However, even they got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator, they were defeated by the Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2.

It was a mix of a season for the Bangalore based franchise. Their star players, such as Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj failed to have an impact season, but performance from the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Shahbaz Ahmed took them to the playoffs.

While Mohammed Siraj was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s best player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, he did not had quite the impact this time around.

While he bagged 11 wickets with great economical bowling in the IPL 2021, he could only manage to get 9 wickets this around and was very expensive too. While his economy in IPL 2021 was 6.78, it was up to 10.08 in IPL 2022.

However, the right-hand pacer has vowed to make a solid comeback in the future. While speaking to ANI, Siraj stated that this is the same Siraj who could great performance in the last 2 seasons. He added that it’s a phase that every player faces and one’s career is always full of ups and downs.

“I had performed well in the last two seasons, this is the same Mohammed Siraj who could not do much this time around. This phase comes in player’s life. If one player’s graph doesn’t fluctuate, then it gets dull. A good career is always full of ups and downs,” said Siraj.
