Team India hasn’t won an ICC tournament since the last decade. They won the last ICC tournament under MS Dhoni when India lifted the 2013 Champions Trophy, beating host England in the final. Though India has made a few semi-finals and finals of ICC events.

But still, they are searching to get their hands on an ICC trophy. Meanwhile, a video is resurfacing on Twitter featuring Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, in which he makes an explosive statement. The video has been shared by a parody Twitter account of Yograj Singh.

In the video, Yograj can be seen making some accusations against MS Dhoni, saying that the former Indian captain deliberately didn’t score runs in the semi-final of the 2019 ODI World Cup against New Zealand because he didn’t want India to win the World Cup under Virat Kohli.

He said, “Dhoni deliberately didn’t bat well so that India lose to the Kiwis. He never wanted any other captain to lift the World Cup title for India.” He stated that Jadeja was doing pretty well and hitting boundaries, but Dhoni didn’t try to score quickly.

Though the tweet is from a fake account but the video interview is real and was given by Yograj Singh three years ago. He said that Dhoni didn’t even play 40 percent of his own ability to take India home. Speaking of that game, India had a brilliant first inning, where they restricted New Zealand to 239/8.

However, the Indian top three were back in the hut in the first three overs for a score of five runs. India were struggling at 6/92 in 30.3 overs when Ravindra Jadeja joined MS Dhoni at the crease. Both batters added a partnership of 116 runs to take India close to the target.

The all-rounder took on the bowler from the start and smashed a 39-ball fifty. However, on the other hand, Dhoni was playing a cautionary inning and reached his half-century off 72 balls when Jadeja was scoring well. Had Dhoni scored a bit quicker, India would have won the game. But Jadeja got out after scoring 77 off 59 balls, and India fell apart. Dhoni came to the crease in the 23rd over and scored 50 off 72 balls. He got run out in the 49th over, and India were bowled out for 221 runs, losing by 18 runs.
