IPL is a tourney where young and old players play together and here’s a look at the oldest and youngest players of each IPL team.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Starting off with the two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders have rested their hopes on the experienced shoulders of Dinesh Karthik, who is also the oldest player in the team aged 35.

The youngest player in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad for IPL 2020 is Kamlesh Nagarkoti. The former India U-19 player will soon be 20 years old and is set to play for KKR this year.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings is nicknamed as ‘Daddies Army’ because of the seniority of all players. The oldest player in the CSK team is South Africa’s leg-spin bowler Imran Tahir, who is 42 years old.

Chennai has signed English all-rounder Sam Curran for IPL 2020 and he is the youngest player in their squad. His age is 22 and he had played for Kings XI Punjab last year.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore team has reached the UAE just like all the other teams and is following the mandatory quarantine period. The oldest player in RCB’s squad is the 37-year-old Dale Steyn.

Bangalore’s local star Devdutt Padikkal is the team’s youngest player, aged 20. He is all set to make his IPL debut after a terrific domestic season.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals will try to win their first ever IPL in 2020 and the most senior player in the team is the Indian leg-spin bowler Amit Mishra. He is 37 years old.

The youngest player is their Nepalese leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, who is the only player from Nepal to play in the IPL. Sandeep is aged 20 and will look to make his impress for Delhi again.

Mumbai Indians

Defending champions Mumbai Indians has used the same strategy as Chennai Super Kings and backed their core players. Their oldest player is Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga who is aged 37.

Deepak Chahar’s brother Rahul Chahar is the youngest player in the Mumbai squad for IPL 2020. The leg spinner is 21 years old and promises to be a big name in cricket.

Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab is home to one of the oldest cricketers playing in IPL 2020, Chris Gayle. The Universe Boss is 40 years old right now and still playing his best cricket in T20s.

The youngest player in Punjab’s team is Afghanistan squad member Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The leg-spinn bowler is just 19 years old, less than half of Gayle’s age!

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha is the oldest player (35 Years old) present in the SRH squad for IPL 2020. The right-handed batsman is the only Indian player to hit a century in an IPL final. While Bairstow will be SRH’s prime wicket-keeping pick, Saha may sneak into the XI because of his vast experience.

Hyderabad grabbed everyone’s attention by signing Jammu and Kashmir’s big-hitting all-rounder Abdul Samad in IPL Auction 2020, who is just 18.

Rajasthan Royals have some of the best overseas players in their team for IPL 2020. Their oldest player is the former IPL Orange Cap winner Robin Uthappa, who is 34 years old.

The Jaipur-based franchise has always backed young talent and they did the same in the IPL Auction 2020 by signing 18-year-old fast bowler Akash Singh. The India U-19 star will look to live up to the hype surrounding him in IPL 2020.
