While the IPL teams generally pay a lot of money to secure the services of their players, there are one or two players in every team who don’t get the amount of money that they deserve based on their qualities.

Today we will have a look at one player from each IPL team who is getting far lesser amount than he deserves –

1.Lungi Ngidi (Chennai Super Kings, 50 Lakh)

Lungi Ngidi is the kind of bowler who can bowl on any sort of surface and at any stage of the innings. He can seam the ball, he can hit the deck and he can also bowl in the block-hole in the death, but a player who possesses such high skills is getting only 50 Lakh INR per season at CSK, while many other bowlers who are not even as good as him are getting a much higher salary at other franchises.

2.Sandeep Lamichhane (Delhi Capitals, 20 Lakh)

If Lamichhane goes into the auction right now, he might be able to fetch an amount over 1 crore INR, based on his performance in the various T20 leagues across the globe in the last couple of years. He was not a very famous name when the last mega IPL auction got held in 2018 and probably that’s why not too many franchises showed interest in him. But, he is likely grab quite a few eyeballs in the next auction.

Currently, Lamichhane is getting only 20 Lakh INR per season at Delhi which is not a deserving amount at all for the Nepali leg-spinner.

3.Shreyas Gopal (Rajasthan Royals, 20 Lakh)

Rajasthan Royals will be considering themselves lucky that they have a player like Shreyas Gopal available to them at an amount of just 20 Lakh INR. Gopal was one of Rajasthan’s premier bowlers in the last IPL season as he provided them crucial breakthroughs in almost every game. And, he didn’t just contribute with the ball, some of his cameos with the bat also helped Rajasthan a great deal.

4.Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore, 20 Lakh)

Padilkkal was the most impressive white ball batsman in the Indian domestic circuit last season as he absolutely smashed the bowlers to all corners in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. But, not too many teams were keen to sign him in the IPL auction, as a result of which the left-hander went to RCB at his base price of only 20 Lakh INR.

5.Sarfaraz Khan (Kings XI Punjab, 25 Lakh)

Sarfaraz Khan has been a bit inconsistent with the bat in the IPL, but that can’t take away the fact that he is incredibly talented and has got quite a few years of experience of playing in the IPL as well. Despite Sarfaraz’s inconsistency, a salary of 25 Lakh per season, which he is currently getting at Kings XI Punjab, doesn’t justify his potential by any means.

6.Billy Stanlake (Sunrisers Hyderabad, 50 Lakh)

Billy Stanlake is a bit like Lungi Ngidi. He is tall and fast and has got the international exposure. On pitches with a bit of extra carry, Stanlake can rush some of the best batsmen in the world, but he has not yet been rated highly by the IPL franchises. Because of the lack of interest for Stanlake in the auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to sign Stanlake at a salary of 50 Lakh per season.

7.Prasidh Krishna (Kolkata Knight Riders, 20 Lakh)

Prasidh Krishna has done so well in the IPL for KKR and in domestic cricket as well that even the Indian captain Virat Kohli gave him a mention in one of the presentation ceremonies after an international game last year.

Prasidh has got a fair bit of pace and the fact that he can move the ball as well makes him even more dangerous. He is certainly worth more than 20 Lakh per season.

8.Aditya Tare (Mumbai Indians, 20 Lakh)

Aditya Tare was a regular member of the Mumbai squad at one stage and won quite a few matches for Mumbai with his batting, but surprisingly, his salary at Mumbai right now is only 20 Lakh per season and that’s again down to the auction.

Since the franchises didn’t stretch the price for Tare in the auction, he couldn’t get as high an amount as he probably should have.
