The ongoing T20 World Cup is entering the knockout phase, where top four teams will battle out for two spots of final. While New Zealand will take on Pakistan on Thursday (November 9) at Sydney Cricket Stadium, India will battle it out against England on the next day at the Adelaide Stadium.

But what if rain happens? In the case, to get a result, both teams must have batted at least overs. If not, New Zealand and India will qualify for the finals from their respective matches. The reason behind it the team who finished at a higher position in the group stage will be given preference.

Notably, the Kiwis and the Men in Blue were the table toppers in their respective groups. Hence, they will have the advantage of getting the win in case rain doesn’t allow a minimum overs of match. To this, obviously Pakistan and England fans are not happy. They expressed their disappointment after getting to know the information.

The changes of raining the semi-finals are very minimal and on top of that, there is a reserve day in place in case the main day falls short to bring a winner. However, there is high possibility of rain on the final day (November 13). If the match gets called off, the finalists will share the trophy. But nobody want that to happen in true sense.
