Rishabh Pant has enjoyed batting against Jack Leach in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship match between India and England at Edgbaston. The left-handed batters are often comfortable playing left-arm spinners. Pant showed aggressive intent in the first innings and helped the Indian team post a 416-run total on the board.

In the second innings, Rishabh Pant scored 57 runs off 86 balls, smashing eight fours. One of the boundary shots from Pant has gone viral on Twitter. But talking about the match between India and England first, the home team won the toss and asked Jasprit Bumrah’s side to bat first.

India scored 416 runs in their first innings, with Pant aggregating 146 runs off just 111 balls. His innings consisted of 19 fours and four sixes in the first innings. Speaking after the end of the Day 1, Pant shared the details of his mindset while batting and said:

“I don’t focus on the bowler; I focus on what he is bowling. It is not pre-planned that I have to go after this bowler. If I feel I can hit the ball, I do that. I think if you lose too many wickets, you need to give yourself time.”

Pant also revealed that Rahul Dravid told him to focus on one ball at a time and not think much about what’s happening. He followed the same ideology in the second innings and finished with more than 200 runs to his name at Edgbaston across two innings.
