IPL 2024 Auction is officially done and dusted. It was an entertaining evening in Dubai, where the 10 franchises spent crores of rupees to sign the players they wanted in their squads. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings spent INR 30.4 crore at the auction to fill up some vacant places in their team.
CSK lost two big names before the new season, namely Ambati Rayudu and Ben Stokes. They have made up for those two losses with some new signings at this year’s auction. In this article now, we will form the strongest playing XI of CSK for IPL 2024.
CSK openers after IPL 2024 Auction – Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad
Devon Conway should continue opening the batting with Ruturaj Gaikwad for the Chennai Super Kings. The left hand-right hand combination achieved a lot of success while playing together for CSK last year. Chennai retained them for IPL 2024, suggesting that they have no intentions of changing the opening pair.
Middle Order – Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni (c and wk)
Ajinkya Rahane will continue batting at number three for the franchise. New all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been chosen as Ambati Rayudu’s replacement, meaning he will bat in the middle order with the likes of Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni.
CSK signed two young all-rounders, namely Sameer Rizvi and Rachin Ravindra at the IPL 2024 Auction. However, they will have to wait a bit because the franchise may stick with Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali for the first few matches.
Bowlers – Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Matheesha Pathirana and Mukesh Choudhary (Impact Player)
CSK have four fantastic pace-bowling options in their squad now. Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar and Mukesh Choudhary are likely to play in all the matches. Depending on the pitch conditions, CSK can choose their overseas bowler between Matheesha Pathirana, Mustafizur Rahman and Mitchell Santner.
