IPL 2024 Auction was not the best one for the Gujarat Titans. They tried their best to sign players like Harshal Patel and Mitchell Starc. However, GT could not use the auction purse to the fullest and ended up buying the players whom they probably did not want in the first place.
Nevertheless, the IPL 2022 champions have a solid squad on paper. Even though Hardik Pandya has left the team, they can still do a good job under Shubman Gill. Here’s a look at the probable playing XI of the Gujarat Titans team:
Openers of GT after IPL 2024 Auction – Wriddhiman Saha (wk) and Shubman Gill
Wriddhiman Saha will continue open the batting with Shubman Gill in IPL 2024. The right-handed duo did an excellent job as an opening pair for the Titans in IPL 2023. Fans will have high hopes from them in the 2024 season as well.
Middle Order – Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia
Gujarat Titans will have to make a tough call and select only one between Kane Williamson and Sai Sudharsan. Both are similar types of players. Considering that Williamson is more experienced, he might start.
Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar and David Miller should retain their places, with new entrant Shahrukh Khan being the team’s finisher along with the Ice Man Rahul Tewatia.
Bowlers – Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma (Impact Player)
Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad will be the main spinners of the Gujarat Titans team. R Sai Kishore can be the backup option of this team. India’s 2015 World Cup fast bowling lineup of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma has reunited at Gujarat Titans in 2024. The backups include left-arm fast bowlers Josh Little and Spencer Johnson.
