As per reports, India’s first-choice players will be rested from Asian Games due to Asia Cup 2023 and Cricket World Cup 2023. A second-string squad will participate in the tournament, and here are our predictions for the Indian squad.

Batters and wicket-keepers – Shikhar Dhawan (c), Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav and Wriddhiman Saha (wk)

India may send five specialist batters and two wicket-keepers for this series. Shikhar Dhawan, who did a great job as Indian captain in 2021 and 2022, should lead the squad. Prabhsimran Singh and Wriddhiman Saha will be the two wicket-keepers for this T20 competition.

All-rounders – Krunal Pandya, Shivam Dube and Shahbaz Ahmed

Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel may not participate in this tournament. So, Krunal Pandya and Shahbaz Ahmed should be the two spin-bowling all-rounders. Shivam Dube, who performed brilliantly for the Chennai Super Kings, should be the lead pace-bowling all-rounder.

Bowlers for Asian Games – Mohit Sharma, Piyush Chawla, Varun CV, T Natarajan and Deepak Chahar

India should recall the trio of Deepak Chahar, T Natarajan and Mohit Sharma to the T20I squad for this series. All three pacers performed decently after returning from injuries. Sharma was in fact the second name on the Purple Cap leaderboard.

Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla should receive a proper farewell along with Saha at this event. Varun CV, the mystery spinner, will complete this squad.
