    Kolkata Knight Riders made history at the IPL 2024 Auction by spending INR 24.75 crore to sign Mitchell Starc. He became the most expensive player in the Indian Premier League history. Apart from that, KKR also signed the likes of Mujeeb ur Rahman, Manish Pandey, Sherfane Rutherford and Ramandeep Singh to stack up their squad.

    Before the IPL 2024 Auction, the Kolkata Knight Riders had retained their captain Shreyas Iyer and vice-captain Nitish Rana. Match-winners like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jason Roy were also retained along with some other talents. Here’s a look at KKR’s probable XI after the auction.

    Openers of KKR after IPL 2024 Auction – Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk) and Venkatesh Iyer

    The right hand-left hand pair of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer should open the batting for the Kolkata-based franchise. KKR also have Jason Roy in the squad, but Gurbaz might get the nod initially because he can also keep the wickets for the team.

    Middle Order – Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Manish Pandey, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell and Anukul Roy

    Shreyas Iyer will return to the KKR team after missing the 2023 season due to injury. He will have the back of Nitish Rana and Manish Pandey in the middle-order.

    Finishers Rinku Singh and Andre Russell will have the onus of destroying the opposition bowlers in the slog overs. Anukul Roy and Ramandeep Singh will compete for the Indian all-rounder’s spot.

    Bowlers – Sunil Narine, Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy (Impact Player)

    Mystery spinners Sunil Narine and Varun CV will form the spin attack of the Kolkata Knight Riders team this year. Australian speedster Mitchell Starc will lead the pace attack. India’s rising star Harshit Rana will be the supporting fast bowler to Starc. Vaibhav Arora is also present in the squad as a pace-bowling option.
