IPL 2024 Auction happened last week in Dubai. Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals were quite active during the trade window before the auction. They traded out batter Devdutt Padikkal to the Lucknow Super Giants and recruited fast bowler Avesh Khan for INR 10 crore.

Openers of RR after IPL 2024 Auction – Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal
The elite duo of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal should continue opening the batting for the Rajasthan Royals. Buttler is a former Orange Cap winner, while Jaiswal set IPL 2023 on fire with his exhilarating performances. He will continue playing the Indian opener’s role for RR.
Middle Order – Sanju Samson (c and wk), Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and R Ashwin
RR’s middle-order will be led by captain Sanju Samson, who will also keep the wickets. New recruit Rovman Powell will have the responsibility to make up for the absence of Joe Root. In 2022, Daryl Mitchell and Rassie van der Dussen failed to seal the spot as well. Now, Powell will be keen to deliver the goods for RR.
Shimron Hetmyer will support Powell in the middle-order, with uncapped Indian cricketers Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel having the responsibility to finish the innings. R Ashwin will be the lead spin-bowling all-rounder of the franchise.
Bowlers – Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal (Impact Player)
New recruit Avesh Khan will form the pace attack of the Royals along with express pacer Prasidh Krishna and left-arm speedster Trent Boult. Former IPL Purple Cap winner Yuzvendra Chahal will be the lead spinner of this team. Chahal and Ashwin have done a fantastic job for RR in the recent past.
