New Zealand cricket team’s rising star Finn Allen has earned everyone’s attention with his excellent performance in the ongoing T20I series against the Scotland cricket team. Allen, who has been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for multiple seasons, scored his first T20I century against the Scots.
The Blackcaps have traveled to Scotland for a two-match T20I series against the home side. Scotland won the toss and opted to bowl first, but the decision did not work in their favor. Playing in Edinburgh, the Scots ended up conceding 225 runs in their 20 overs. Here’s what Scotland captain Richie Berrington had said at the toss before the first innings:
“It looks like a good batting wicket and we will try to chase down whatever is put on the board. The last game we played against the Kiwis was in the T20 World Cup last year, we missed a few opportunities there, but it was a close one, we hope to redress those this time round.”
Martin Guptill and Finn Allen opened the innings for the New Zealand cricket team. The duo added 85 runs for the first wicket off just 8.5 overs. Guptill departed to the dressing room after scoring 40 runs, but Allen remained in the middle till the 18th over and completed his maiden T20I ton.
Allen scored 101 runs off 56 deliveries, whacking eight fours and six sixes. His strike rate was 180.36 in the innings. Eventually, he lost his wicket to Mark Watt who got him stumped out.

Though the century was against Scotland and bowling was below average still Finn Allen's power is just unreal… He was hitting six with a single hand, flicks… I enjoyed his innings.
