SA20 is set to return for its second edition in 2024 after a successful debut in 2023. Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will open the tournament against Joburg Super Kings on January 10 at St George’s Oval. The season will feature 34 matches, including four playoffs, running from January 10 to February 10.
Similar to the inaugural edition, the league will comprise six teams: Pretoria Capitals, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Joburg Super Kings, and Durban Super Giants. All teams are owned by IPL franchise owners.
In the league stage (January 10 to February 4), each team will play 10 matches in a double round-robin format. The top two teams will qualify for the first qualifier on February 6, determining the first finalist.
The Eliminator is scheduled for February 7, followed by Qualifier 2 on February 8. The winner of Qualifier 2 will face the winner of Qualifier 1 in the final on February 10.
