The fifth match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway featuring the Rajasthan Royals team and the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. It is the battle between the inaugural IPL champions and the 2016 season winners at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Umran Malik was the best bowler for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and invited the Rajasthan Royals to have a bat first. Sanju Samson’s brilliant half-century helped the Rajasthan Royals post a score of 210/6 on the board.
The speedster started with an expensive over, where he gave away 21 runs. However, he made a comeback after that and finished with figures of 2/39 in his four overs. The dismissal of Devdutt Padikkal was the highlight of the innings as Malik’s express pace bamboozled the left-handed batter.
Padikkal generally plays an opening batter, but the Rajasthan Royals sent him to bat at the number four position. Commenting on his innings after scoring 41 runs on RR debut, Padikkal told IPLT20.com:
“Definitely a first-time experience for me in the IPL. I was just looking to back myself, trust my abilities and express myself. (How’s it been in the new franchise?) They’ve been very welcoming – it’s a loveable franchise and everyone has made me feel at home.”
