Punjab Kings posted a mammoth score of 209/9 in 20 overs, thanks to fifties from Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for the Royal Challengers Bangalore with a four-wicket haul, whereas Wanindu Hasaranga bagged two wickets for the Bangalore-based franchise.

Chasing 210, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost wickets at regular intervals and lost the game by 54 runs. Speaking with the host broadcasters after his team’s defeat against the Punjab Kings, RCB captain Faf du Plessis said:

“It was a good score. The way Jonny started the innings, put our bowlers under pressure. Although we pulled things back. I thought 200 was a par score on a really good wicket. It was probably the best wickets we have played on during this campaign. When you’re chasing a total like that, the key is not to lose wickets in clusters.”
