In the 23rd match of the IPL 2022 season, Dewald Brevis stole the show with his big-hitting skills in the over bowled by Rahul Chahar. The Mumbai Indians are taking on the Punjab Kings in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League tonight, with the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune playing host to the match.
The Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to have a bowl first. Punjab Kings got off to a fantastic start with the two openers Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan stitching up a 97-run opening partnership. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone were dismissed cheaply, but uncapped Indian players Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan helped Punjab finish with 198 runs on the scoreboard.
Basil Thampi was the most successful bowler from the Mumbai Indians team. He picked up two wickets for his team, while the trio of Murugan Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Jaydev Unadkat picked up one wicket each.
Chasing 199 to open their account in the IPL 2022 points table, the Mumbai Indians lost their two openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma in the powerplay overs. Two youngsters, namely Tilak Verma and Dewald Brevis then rescued the innings with a decent third-wicket partnership.

During that partnership, Rahul Chahar came to bowl his first over, and Tilak Verma took a single off the first ball. Dewald Brevis came on strike and he hit 4,6,6,6,6 as Mumbai Indians ended up scoring 29 runs from those six deliveries.
