South Africa women’s cricket team’s player Dane van Niekerk backed the former Indian cricket team captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli after his dismal showing in the IPL 2022 so far.
Virat Kohli is no doubt one of the greatest ever to have graced the game and is already considered one of the legends of the game, while he still has a long career left ahead of him.
Kohli has been by far the best batsman in the word of cricket for the last several years, whether it is the International cricket or the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli has asserted his dominance.
But, for the last couple of months, Kohli has lost all of that. He right-hand batter is going through a very rough patch for almost the last 2 years, where a century has now become hard to come by.
Virat Kohli last scored a century in any format of game or forms of the game last time in the 2019 during the Day/Night Test match between India and Bangladesh.
Kohli, who has bossed the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been so far having an forgettable season so far. He has played 10 matches in the IPL 2022 so far ahead of the match against CSK, and has scored only 186 runs.
Because of his performance so far, he has received number of criticism from around the world. But there are players who have backed the star player, and one of them is South African women’s team cricketer Dane van Niekerk.
She, today, took to her official Twitter handle to post a tweet about Kohli. In that, she started off saying that people should stop looking for reason to discredit Virat Kohli for what he has done to the game.
She added that everyone should accept that a legend will always be a legend and just a tournament or season does not define what Kohli has done over the last decade.
Stop looking for reasons to discredit what @imVkohli has done for the game of cricket!! On the up, over extra and made it look easy.. a legend will always be a legend.. accept it! A tournament, a season does not define over a decade of consistent performances! #TATAIPL2022— Danevn81 (@Danevn811) May 4, 2022
