The Qualifier 1 match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League playoffs is underway right now, where inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals are up against the tabletoppers Gujarat Titans. GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. Yash Dayal gave the first breakthrough to GT as he picked up the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Speaking about what happened at the toss first, Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya handed Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson his 13th defeat in the toss. In a brief interview at the toss, Hardik said:
“We’re going to bowl first. Looks like a pretty decent track to bat on but simply because in the last couple of months there have been no matches here so we want to see how it’ll play. The boys are pumped up for this game. (What’s the message been?) To make sure we treat this game as simple as possible.”
Mohammad Shami opened the bowling for the Gujarat Titans. He bowled a decent first over with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring runs for the Rajasthan Royals. Uncapped left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal bowled the second over of the match. On the final ball of the over, he bowled a delivery outside off to Jaiswal.
The left-handed batter edged the delivery, and the ball went straight to the Gujarat Titans wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha. The umpire was not sure whether the batter was out or not, but Jaiswal showed Spirit of Cricket and walked back to the pavilion.

Yashasvi Jaiswal walking away after the wicket, without even Umpire's confirmation is the kind of confidence everyone need to have in their life! 😂#IPLplayoffs #Qualifier1 #GTvRR #GTvsRR #RRvGT #RRvsGT #IPL2022

Shows exemplary character in a Playoffs game #RR
Class act by the young Yashasvi Jaiswal. Walked away even when the umpire did not give him out in such a big match knowing he was out.#Respect #GTvsRR #YashasviJaiswal

Huge appeal from bowler and saha, no reaction from umpire but Yashasvi jaiswal walks out before Gujarat titans reviews it. Good to see that. #IPLplayoffs #GTvsRR
