Usually, a player takes a season or two to get used to the intensity of IPL. However, a few players have left an impression in their first campaign itself. For the teams that signed them, it is a big positive that these players have done well.

Openers: Devon Conway (C) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa

Devon Conway and Bhanuka Rajapaksa will be the openers of this debutante XI of IPL 2022. Although Conway did not have a great start and was later dropped, after his return, the Kiwi came to excellent form. He struck a couple of fifties and helped CSK win a few games. Due to this performance, Conway is likely to be retained by CSK for future seasons. Similarly, Bhanuka Rajapaksa stepped up for Punjab Kings in a few crucial situations. His scoring rate was excellent and in the absence of Jonny Bairstow, he also did well behind the stumps.

Middle-Order: Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma, Rovman Powell and Jitesh Sharma (WK)

There was a lot of talk about Dewald Brevis before IPL 2022 started. Justifying the expectations, Brevis was in decent touch in IPL 2022. Tilak Varma was arguably the best debutant batter this season. Despite playing in a difficult middle-order, he came up with clutch performances very often.

Although he took a while to get going, Rovman Powell did not take long to display his big hitting. Jitesh Sharma, who was part of Mumbai Indians in 2016, finally made his debut in 2022. He played many vital cameos for PBKS and hence, he is a part of this list.

All-Rounders: R Sai Kishore

Gujarat Titans’ Sai Kishore will be the all-rounder in this debutante XI of IPL 2022. Although Sai did not get the chance to showcase his batting skills in IPL 2022, he will surely get chances as the tournament progresses. With the ball, he had an important role to play in the latter half of the tournament.

Bowlers: Mohsin Khan, Yash Dayal, Mukesh Choudhary and Kuldeep Sen

Mohsin Khan was part of Mumbai Indians before but he played only this season. He was brilliant and there are already expectations that he will play for India. Yash Dayal and Mukesh Choudhary are two other left-arm pacers who did well in IPL 2022. Both had an important role to play for their respective teams. Although he got very few chances, Kuldeep Sen left an impression with his pace and accuracy. Hence, he is also a part of this XI.
