Facing a challenging situation at 34 for 5 within 36 balls of their innings, Invincibles duo Jason Roy and Sam Curran both fell without scoring. However, the team found resurgence through the efforts of Tom Curran (67 not out from 34 balls) and Jimmy Neesham (57 not out from 33 balls), who crafted an undefeated 127-run partnership off 65 balls.

This partnership stands as the most significant in the history of the men’s Hundred format. The collective performance propelled the London-based team to a total of 161 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

In the crucial moments, Tom Curran’s figures of 1 wicket for 25 runs off 20 balls stood out as he conceded a mere nine runs in the second-to-last over. Meanwhile, Sam Curran’s economical bowling performance (1-31 off 20 balls) restricted Originals to just eight runs out of the 23 they needed in the final five balls to win the match.

This marked Originals’ second consecutive defeat in the final, having previously lost by two wickets to Trent Rockets a year ago. On the other hand, the Invincibles secured their club’s third Hundred title overall. This achievement is bolstered by their women’s team clinching victories in the competition in 2021 and 2022.

Meanwhile for the women’s version of the tournament, the Southern Brave secured the women’s Hundred championship by showcasing their superiority over the Northern Superchargers in the final clash held at Lord’s.

Having faced defeats in the preceding two finals, the Brave, this time, left no room for error. They clinched victory by a convincing margin of 34 runs over the Superchargers.

The Brave’s resilience shone through as they overcame a challenging start at 8 for 2, managing to post a competitive total of 139-6. The efforts of opener Danni Wyatt, who scored 59 runs, and Freya Kemp, who contributed 31 runs from a mere 17 balls, were pivotal in achieving this score.

The Superchargers encountered an early setback when Marie Kelly was dismissed by Lauren Bell on just the second ball of their reply. The team’s hopes largely rested on their primary run-scorer, Phoebe Litchfield. However, when Litchfield’s aggressive shot was caught by a fielder at deep cover off Bell’s bowling, the Superchargers found themselves struggling at 13-2 and were unable to mount a successful recovery. In the end, the Braves won the match and crowned as The Hundred Women’s Champions.
