Khaleel Ahmed bowled one of the most memorable spells of his Indian Premier League career earlier tonight while playing for the Delhi Capitals in a do-or-die match against the Mumbai Indians. The five-time champions won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium. A fiery spell from Jasprit Bumrah helped MI restrict DC to 159/7 in their 20 overs.
Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for the Mumbai Indians as he picked up three wickets in his four overs. He dismissed the in-form Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck, while he picked up Prithvi Shaw’s wicket with a deadly bouncer. Bumrah completed his three-wicket haul by dismissing the dangerous Rovman Powell with a pinpoint yorker.
Speaking with the host broadcasters after the first innings, Jasprit Bumrah said:
“That felt good. I was clear in my executions. Tried to do nothing out of the ordinary. Just backed my plans and executed it. It’s not about wickets for me. Whenever I’m clear and I’m having fun, that’s the point I enjoy. Results and wickets are not in my hands.”

Chasing 160 runs to end IPL 2022 with a victory, Mumbai Indians got off to a slow start in the powerplay overs. Khaleel Ahmed troubled them with his pace and swing. While Rohit Sharma could not score a single run off his bowling, Ishan Kishan managed one run. He bowled 11 dot balls in his first two overs, with Sharma facing the majority of them.
