    SA20 Auction 2024 is done and dusted. The much-awaited event in South African cricket happened yesterday in Johannesburg, where six teams, namely Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals, Durban’s Super Giants and Paarl Royals signed the players to fill up their squads.

    The six franchises spent the amount with utmost thinking and only signed the players whom they needed. It was a mini-auction like the one which happened in IPL 2023 as well. Two players earned more than 1 million Rand. Here is the top five list of most expensive players.

    5. Bayers Swanepoel, Sunrisers Eastern Cape – 26 lakh INR

    Bayers Swanepoel is a right-arm pace-bowling all-rounder of South Africa. Last edition’s champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape signed him for R 600,000, which approximately equals to INR 26 lakh.

    4. Wayne Madsen, Joburg Super Kings – 36.85 lakh INR

    Joburg Super Kings were quite active at the SA20 Auction. The Faf du Plessis-led outfit roped in Italian batter Wayne Madsen for R 850,000, which approximately equals to INR 36.85 lakh INR.

    3. Romario Shepherd, Joburg Super Kings – 36.85 lakh INR

    Another player whom the Joburg Super Kings signed for R 850,000 is Romario Shepherd. The Super Kings roped in the Caribbean all-rounder, who has played for SRH and LSG in the IPL.

    2. Most expensive pick at SA20 Auction 2024: Dayyan Galiem, Joburg Super Kings – INR 69.36 lakh

    The two most expensive players of SA20 Auction earned INR 69.36 lakh each. The first was Dayyan Galiem, who was signed for R 1.6 million by the Joburg Super Kings. He is a 26-year-old bowling all-rounder of South Africa.

    Matthew Boast is a 20-year-old fast-bowling all-rounder of South Africa. He has not played much at the top level, but the Pretoria Capitals decided to spend R 1.6 million, almost INR 70 lakh for his services at the auction.
