Twitter reacts as Imran Tahir scores 52*(19) to defeat India Maharajas in Legends League

Legends League Cricket is currently underway in Oman. The tournament has three teams, namely World Giants, Asia Lions and India Maharajas. The tournament started on January 20 with a match between India Maharajas and Asia Lions. Although Maharajas did not have their star players Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, they won the match against Asia Lions.

In the second game, the Asia Lions recorded their first win of the tournament by defeating the World Giants. Now, the first round of the tri-series has culminated with the World Giants beating the India Maharajas. The Giants, led by Darren Sammy, won the toss and invited India Maharajas to bat first.

Former England pacer Ryan Sidebottom got the Giants off to a dream start as he dismissed Wasim Jaffer and Subramaniam Badrinath for ducks. Wicket-keeper batter Naman Ojha then destroyed the Giants bowling attack with a 69-ball 140*. Captain Mohammad Kaif supported him with a fine half-century.

India Maharajas set a 210-run target for World Giants. Although the Giants lost wickets at regular intervals, they were in the match till the end because of Kevin Pietersen’s fifty. Imran Tahir then hit the knockout punch with an unbelievable 19-ball 52* . He smashed three fours and five sixes in his innings.
