BCCI has announced the squad for the T20 World Cup to be held this year. The event will start on October 17th and will take place in UAE and Oman. The squad had many surprises, but it was MS Dhoni’s comeback to the squad as the team’s mentor that is the highlight. Many surprises in the squad

The squad has many surprises. One of the notable omissions is that of Yuzvendra Chahal. Instead, R Ashwin has made a return to the T20I team after a gap of four years. Shikhar Dhawan has also missed out with Ishan Kishan getting a chance as the reserve opener. T Natarajan has also not made it to the squad. Axar Patel’s inclusion is a big surprise.

MS Dhoni becomes Team India’s mentor

Almost no one had predicted that MS Dhoni would be part of the event. The legend had won the trophy as a captain back in 2007. He had also been part of the six editions of the competition so far. However, he had quit the game in August last year. BCCI has confirmed that Dhoni would mentor the squad at the event.
