England let Rohit Sharma off the hook

Day 3 of the ongoing 4th Test started on a bright note for India. The Indian openers were able to tackle the tricky English bowlers in the first hour. Although KL Rahul lost his wicket to a peach of a delivery, Rohit Sharma has continued his form, thereby taking India to a safe spot.

Slip-catching has been a problem for England in this series. In the first innings, the likes of Joe Root and Craig Overton dropped their catches. Opener Rory Burns has been a familiar culprit in this regard. He has further taken his reputation down of being a good slip-catcher by dropping Rohit Sharma twice in the second innings. While the first occurrence was yesterday, Burns dropped a catch on Day 3, too. This has allowed Rohit Sharma to get into the groove and construct a big score.

Burns drops yet another catch

Rory Burns dropping yet another catch became fodder for the Twitteratti, which did not have a lot to discuss until then. Even experts like Michael Vaughan also managed to troll Burns on the platform. While Twitter is taking to the lighter side of things, the English management must ensure that slip-catching will improve in the coming months. Especially with the Ashes coming up, this aspect has to be rectified for England to pose a challenge.
