Luck does not seem to be favouring Team India in the ongoing Test series against England. On Day 5 of the first Test, India was in a winning position. However, rain washed the day out, and India had to draw the game. Similarly, many Umpire’s call decisions have gone against India in this series. Each of these decisions has been agonizingly close, and had the result been the opposite, India would have been in a better position. Today, Twitter reacted as yet another Umpire’s Call goes against Team India. We look at a few reactions in this article.
Rohit Sharma is the victim this time
Although India is still way behind England, the men in blue started their second batting innings confidently. Rohit Sharma was the mainstay yet again as he scored runs at a decent rate. With him on 59 runs, Ollie Robinson’s delivery struck him on the pads. The English players appealed and the Hitman was given out.
Although the LBW decision looked alright to the naked eye, Rohit Sharma took the review. As it turned out, the ball was just clipping the top of the leg-stump. Had he been given not out and if England had reviewed, Rohit would have stayed at the crease. However, that did not occur.
Yet Another Umpire’s Call Goes Against Team India
The Umpire’s Call, which got Rohit Sharma out was pretty close. His wicket has shifted the game towards England as he was the batsman in form. Twitter, too, was disappointed with the result. Here are a few reactions that came on the social media platform.
