The third match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team is currently underway at Newlands in Cape Town. Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has won everyone’s hearts by becoming the first Asian wicket-keeper to score a hundred in a Test match on South African soil.
The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first in Cape Town. A captain’s knock from Kohli helped the Indian cricket team post a 223-run total on the board in their first innings. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for the home team, with figures of 4/73 in 22 overs.
In response, the South African cricket team posted a 210-run score on the board with a phenomenal knock from Keegan Petersen helping the team pass the 200-run mark. The new batter scored a fantastic fifty and ensured that the lead was down to 13 runs only. Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets for the Indian cricket team.
The visitors batted again and were all out for 198 runs in their second innings. Rishabh Pant stole the show with an unbeaten century. He remained not out on 100 runs off 139 deliveries, smashing six fours and four sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 71 in his marvelous inning.
