Australia and South Africa have started the Super 12 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Proteas are batting first and have been rocked back early. Amidst this, wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock got out in an unfortunate way. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to the awkward dismissal of Quinton de Kock against Australia in the T20 WC.
Australia begin well against South Africa
South Africa and Australia both need a win in their first game to ensure that they get off to a good start. Both teams have weaknesses and a good beginning is a must. However, it is the Aussies who are on top at the moment.
Especially after the first few overs, South Africa has lost the cream of their batting line-up and are looking down the barrel. Josh Hazlewood has been the main tormentor while Glenn Maxwell finished four overs, picking one wicket and giving away just 24 runs.
Twitter reacts to the weird dismissal of Quinton de Kock
Quinton de Kock was trying to steady the ship for South Africa after having lost two early wickets. However, an unfortunate dismissal put an end to his stay at the crease. He crossed the off-stump and tried to play the ball near the fine-leg region. However, the ball struck his body, went up and then fell in front of the stumps only to bounce and remove the bails off. QDK was slow to react and by that time, he was out. Twitter reacted to this dismissal and we take a look at a few of the tweets:

Horrible way to get out for Quinton De Kock. He saw the ball goes onto the stumps, but couldn't stop. Another wicket for Josh Hazlewood.

Quinton de Kock looked he just stole a 'quick-sixer' off that mistimed pull. He had a whale of time to fix that faux pas but his reflex wasn't enough.@OfficialProteas in tatters at the moment.#T20WorldCup #AUS #AUSvSA

My surprise at Apple licensing RD Burman's iconic "Dum Maro Dum" and using its guitar riff for the iPhone 13 ad was pretty much at the same level as Quinton de Kock's after he saw the ball land onto the stumps.
