The high-voltage clash between India and Australia is all set to get underway for the World Test Championship 2023. This match will take place at the Oval between June 7 and 11. Both teams will have totally different conditions to deal with.
This will be a marquee clash between the two best test sides in the world. However, ahead of the start of the game, the Oval pitch has become the center of attention. The initial picture of the pitch shows a total green top, which is likely to assist the pacers, and it will be a big challenge for the batters from both teams.
Notably, the record of both teams is very poor at the Oval. India has played a total of 14 tests at this venue, winning only two and losing three, while seven ended in a draw. Meanwhile, veteran Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who will be doing commentary during the final, shared the image of the Oval pitch on the eve of the game.

To which one of the Twitter users made a rather unusual request from DK. The user asked him to secretly cut the grass on the pitch. He tweeted, “At this point dk can be our hero if he secretly cut those damn grass off at night w a lawn mower. Ye kya garden bna diya hai inhonen pitch k naam p.” Karthik also didn’t hold back and give a cheeky reply and answered, “The resume is already heavy with many roles.”

Notably, Rohit Sharma and his men will eye to end the ICC trophy drought and win an ICC event after almost a decade now. But it won’t be easy. They will be up against a full-strength Australian side, which is better on paper as compared to India. But according to some former cricketers, the pitch at the Oval will assist spinners after Day 3.
