Jos Buttler enjoys playing against the Mumbai Indians in IPL matches, and today, he has added another great IPL innings to his name against the same opponent. The wicket-keeper batter from England opened the innings for the Rajasthan Royals today in their afternoon fixture against the Mumbai Indians.
MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited the Rajasthan Royals to bat first at the DY Patil Stadium. Fans should note that RR is the only team that has won a match by batting first in the IPL 2022 season so far. Speaking to Murali Kartik at the toss, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson had the following to say after losing the toss:
“We have to be happy with that (on batting first). We would have liked to bowl first. Chatter in the camp is just to be a bit smarter and understanding what the condition demands and applying accordingly. We did a reasonably good job in the auction to get a strong team.”
The Rajasthan Royals got off to a shaky start as they lost their uncapped opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early. Soon after, Devdutt Padikkal lost his wicket as well. However, the Mumbai Indians bowlers could not stop Jos Buttler as he destroyed the MI bowling attack once again.
