Playing Test match cricket for India is the dream of almost every Indian. However, not everyone is successful in achieving that dream. Also, the players who are successful in earning their maiden Test cap are not guaranteed of having long careers. While players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble and several others played Test cricket for years, there have also been players who were dropped after just 1 Test match.

1. T Natarajan – Played 1 Test match vs. Australia

Left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan made his Test debut against the Australian cricket team in the famous Gabba Test match in Brisbane last year. He was a net bowler, but got a chance to play because of injuries to others. Natarajan took three wickets in that Test but is yet to play another Test after that.

2. Naman Ojha – Played 1 Test match vs. Sri Lanka

Former Indian wicket-keeper Naman Ojha played the only Test of his career against Sri Lanka in 2015. He scored 56 runs in that game, but did not play again.

3. Karn Sharma

Karn Sharma was a member of the Indian playing XI that played in Virat Kohli’s first Test as captain against Australia in Adelaide. He returned with figures of 4/238 and is yet to play Test cricket again.

4. Vinay Kumar

Former Indian fast bowler Vinay Kumar started his Test career in Australia. He took one wicket in the only Test match of his career that happened at W.A.C.A ground in 2012.

5. Jaydev Unadkat

Left-arm fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat made his Test debut a decade ago in 2010 against South Africa. Despite his impressive performance in red-ball cricket, Unadkat has not received another chance to play Tests for India.
