Mumbai Indians became the first team to be eliminated from the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Despite having stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah and Tymal Mills in the squad, the Mumbai-based franchise have finished in the bottom half of the points table. MI have shifted their focus to IPL 2023.

The team management has already tried out many players from their bench. Now, at the IPL 2023 Auction, MI may look to sign some of the following names:

1. Duan Jansen could be a good option for MI in IPL 2023

Duan Jansen is the brother of former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Marco Jansen. Duan is with the Mumbai Indians right now as a net bowler. Since Tymal Mills is unlikely to be retained, Duan could be a fantastic addition to MI’s pace attack.

2. Ben Stokes could be a game-changer for MI in IPL 2023

England’s Test captain Ben Stokes is likely to make his return to the Indian Premier League next year. If he comes back, Mumbai Indians should target him because they need an all-rounder who can contribute in both departments.

3. Mitchell Starc

If Mitchell Starc makes himself available for the next season, the Mumbai Indians should think of signing him. The trio of Starc, Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer could wreak havoc in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.

4. Carlos Brathwaite

Looking at the way Kieron Pollard performed in IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians would like to have a decent backup option for him. Someone like Carlos Brathwaite can be a fantastic choice as a backup for Pollard.

5. Adam Zampa

Adam Zampa played an integral role in Australia’s T20 World Cup 2021 win, but he went unsold at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. MI need spinners for IPL 2023, and a player like Zampa could be a good addition to the team.
