Team India have tried out many players in the last three years. There have been a lot of changes in the Men in Blue’s squad as well as team management and administration. The BCCI has tried its best to form the best squad so that the team wins the maximum number of matches.
Several new players have received their debut caps in the last three years. While players like Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav have sealed their places in the squad, here’s a look at five players whom fans might not remember that they represented India in the last three years.
1. Sandeep Warrier played one T20I for Team India in 2021
Sandeep Warrier traveled to Sri Lanka as a support bowler, but he was drafted into the main T20I squad when India’s multiple players contracted COVID-19. Warrier made his debut in the final T20I of that series in 2021 and never played that again.
2. Jayant Yadav has played 3 matches for Team India after 2020
Off-spin bowling all-rounder Jayant Yadav has represented the Men in Blue in two Tests and one ODI in the last three years. He took five wickets in two Tests, while he remained wicketless in the ODI.
3. Chetan Sakariya
Left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya earned a call-up to the Indian T20I squad after he impressed for Rajasthan Royals in the first half of IPL 2021. Sakariya played two games against Sri Lanka and never got another chance.
4. Shahbaz Nadeem
Left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem made it to the Indian playing XI for the first Test against England in 2021. Since he could not perform as per the expectations, Nadeem was dropped from the playing XI.
5. Kuldeep Sen
Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen made his ODI debut against Bangladesh last year. He bagged two wickets on debut, but surprisingly, he is yet to play his second ODI match.
