He also held the remarkable record of the fastest century in IPL 3 years before Chris Gayle rattled it with a screamer of an innings against Pune Warriors. Pathan has garnered 3204 runs at a strike rate of 142.97. Though he still continues to be an IPL favourite, he is nothing but a shadow of his former scintillating self.

The Indian spinner, who has honed his batting by leaps and bounds in the last three years, has also been a man on whom his franchises could pin their hopes when they needed someone to hang in there. Mahendra Singh Dhoni stayed unbeaten for a staggering 65 times from the 190 games that he played in all the editions of the IPL. He chronicled 4432 runs at a strike rate of 137.85.
