7 former Mumbai Indians players who will play in Legends League Cricket 2022

Mumbai Indians are one of the most decorated teams in franchise cricket history. The Mumbai-based franchise have captured the IPL trophy five times, and they even won the Champions League T20 twice. MI had a disastrous IPL 2022 season, but that does not change the fact they are the most successful team in the league.

Some of the greatest cricketers on earth like Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Lasith Malinga, Shaun Pollock, Ricky Ponting, Rohit Sharma and others have played for MI. A few veteran players have retired from IPL, but the following seven MI players have signed up to play in the upcoming Legends League T20 2022.

1. Former Mumbai Indians fast bowler Mitchell Johnson

Former Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson played an important role in MI’s championship wins. The left-arm pacer is one of the most feared fast bowlers in cricket history.

2. Former Mumbai Indians captain Harbhajan Singh

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is another legend who will feature in LLC T20 2022. He signed up to play for the India Maharajas last year but could not play because of COVID-19.

3. Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Thisara Perera

Former Sri Lankan captain Thisara Perera did not have a long stint with MI, but he did represent the franchise in a six-hitting challenge once. Perera retired from international cricket last year.

4. Parthiv Patel

Parthiv Patel was one of the best batters for MI in their championship-winning 2017 season. Patel has retired from all formats of cricket but will make a comeback to the pitch in LLC T20.

5. Pragyan Ojha

Former MI left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha’s career was derailed because of suspect bowling action. Ojha has worked on his action and will play in LLC T20.

6. Dilhara Fernando

Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilhara Fernando represented only one franchise in his IPL career – MI. Fernando could bowl alongside Johnson in LLC T20.

7. Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Stuart Binny

Not many members of the cricket universe would know that Stuart Binny made his IPL debut for MI in 2010. After playing for India Maharajas in LLC T20 last year, he has signed up to play again.
