The competition level in the Indian cricket team is sky high at the moment. Earlier, quite a few players used to receive at least two or three series to prove themselves, but nowadays, some players make it to the squad and lose their spot for the next series even if they fail to perform in one game.

The experienced players obviously receive more backing from the team management, but the following seven Indian T20 stars where dropped from the T20I side just after they made their debuts.

1. Mayank Markande – Debuted for Indian team in 2019

Mayank Markande came into the limelight in 2018, playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He was very impressive and inside one year, he was in the Indian T20I team. He made his debut against Australia and bowled a decent spell but has been away from the team since then.

2. Subramaniam Badrinath

It is very rare to see a player lose his spot after winning Man of the Match award. However, batter Subramaniam Badrinath did not receive even one chance to play for India in T20Is after he won MOTM against the Windies on debut in 2011.

3. Karn Sharma

Another leg-spinner to feature on the list is Karn Sharma. He debuted in 2014 against England and bowled a spell of 1/28, but he never played in the T20I format again.

4. Sreenath Aravind – Debuted for Indian team in 2015

Unlike the first three names, Sreenath Aravind did not have a memorable T20I debut. He bowled an expensive spell of 1/44 against South Africa, which led to India’s defeat and his exit.

5. Rishi Dhawan

All-rounder Rishi Dhawan grabbed the headlines after his fine performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Not many fans would know that he started his T20I career in 2016 against Zimbabwe and lost his place in the team after just one game. In that game, he scored one run and bowled an expensive spell of 1/42.
