5.MS Dhoni on including youngsters in the team
After losing a Test series to Australia away from home in 2011-12, MS Dhoni made a few changes in his team as he brought the youngsters to Australia, with some veterans missing out.
In the press conference ahead of the Commonwealth Bank series, he was asked to explain this move and Dhoni replied:
“From Kishore Kumar, we have gone to Sean Paul.”
4.MS Dhoni on birth of Ziva
A majority of the Indian cricket team fans would know that MS Dhoni was not present when his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni gave birth to Ziva. In fact, Dhoni did not see his daughter for weeks as he was in Australia.
A journalist asked him if he missed being in India to see his daughter to which Dhoni replied:
“Not really. As of now, I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign.”
3.MS Dhoni shows his high-level sarcasm
Another epic reply from the 2011-12 Australian tour was regarding the weather in Australia. MS Dhoni shot a pre-series advertisement and then shared his experience in a witty manner as follows:
“I was sitting at home and watching television. More often than not, you watch some really strong advertisements in the lead-up to an India-Australia series. The advertisement said: ‘It is winter out here, and summer out here, so get ready to feel the heat Down Under.’ I took it very seriously. I didn’t pack a single jacket, only to realize it is pretty cold here.”
